Word that George Onno has passed away. Can't find any information: Can someone help?
Also Neal Campbell. Does anyone know about Neal?
Interesting Information from Don

1. A new organization was formed a
couple of years ago aimed at all of us who are not WWII, Korea
nor Afghanistan veterans. However we are veterans and many
of us served honourable until retirement. Of
interest is NATO Veterans Organization of Canada and includes former
NORAD members. They are now part of the Dept. Veterans
Affairs Advisory Committee ensuring that are generation of
members do not get lost in the dust. Have a look at their
website at natoveterans.org/
By the way....DVA considers a vet to be anyone who serves 3 or
more years in any branch of the military and has been honourable
released.
2. I just
rec'd a notice that is of interest to all of us regarding free
stays at B&B's across Canada. Have a look at bbcanada.com/bbforvets.
Quite astounding. I've had never heard of this before.

What is an INTERAC Email Money
Transfer?
If you have an email address and online banking password at a
participating financial institution, you can send and receive money
quickly and easily.
Email carries the notice while the financial institutions securely
transfer the money using existing payment networks. If your financial
institution does not yet offer INTERAC Email Money Transfers, you can
still deposit transfers to any bank account in Canada. If you use this
service don't forget to tell the receiver the password.

My sincere thanks to the following people
and their help with donations, it really does make a difference & it keeps
this site online. Rather than simply sending a note of thanks I decided
to share the names of those who are responsible for keeping this site
active. I don't mind working on the site, keeping things updated, and
paying for small improvements here and there... but this site has grown to the
point of needing a special server and software, so any help with
expenses are truly appreciated.

of reminds you of the cockpit in the Link Trainer doesn't
it?

Forwarding Emails.
When you forward an email and just want to
send part of it, click on forward, highlight the part you want
to delete, names and addresses. (by holding the left
mouse button and moving it over what you want to highlight), and
then hit the [DELETE] key on your keyboard.
The highlighted text will be deleted. Then you can forward
what you did not highlight. DO NOT try to highlight and
delete BEFORE you click on forward as it will not work this way.

Visited Steve in July and saw the restoration so far, of
CF-104 simulator. Also received some pictures from Jules Plamondon. Click

Hi my name is Steve Pajot
.
The CF-104 Operational
Flight Trainer restoration is moving along very well and should be finished as a
static display by July or August of this year (2010). I hope one day to have it
operational once again using a better graphics program than was originally used
while in RCAF service. At the moment the OFT is the centre piece of the Canadian
Starfighter Museum which is located at St. Andrew's Airport just north of
the city of Winnipeg in Manitoba, Canada.
This OFT was based at CFB
Cold Lake, Alberta and used by the RCAF with 6 Strike OTU and later 417 TAC F OT
Squadron. I am still hoping for some of your members to respond with some photos
of the OFT when it was in operation. I flew this simulator many times and I
still kick myself for not having taken any photographs on those occasions.
If any one would like to
view the OFT please email or call to set up a time. The museum is not yet
fully functional as we have just acquired a new hangar and we are
currently building and modifying the display area.
Cheers !
I am trying to get
together some information and photos of the RCAF CF-104 Operational Flight
Trainer. I am a member of the Canadian Starfighter Association and an avid
Starfighter fan. I was based in 4 F Wing Baden-Soellingen, Germany when I was
first introduced to the CF-104 and the love affair has continued to this day.
I had my first flight in the CF-104 OFT in 4 Wing and subsequent flights
later in CFB Cold Lake. I was fortunate enough to fly in the actual aircraft
in the 1970's.
My hope is to gain information about the RCAF CF-104 OFT's in Canadian
service. I know very little about the simulators Canada bought. I assume each
base in Europe had one OFT and of course one was based in Cold Lake . I
would like to know if any one in your community worked on any of these
simulators and if there is any knowledge as to the disposition of the
simulators. Also any photos or anything related to the operation of the flight
simulators would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Regards,
karen1steve1@shaw.ca

May 2, 2010 the Canadian Navy (officially Maritime Command) got back the
Executive Curl on the Naval Officer's Uniform. This was the result of a

Airport
security
Once
in a great while these college professors come up with a pretty
decent idea...
Here's a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners:
Erect
a booth that you can step into that will NOT X-ray you,
but will DETONATE any explosive device you may have
on you.
It
would be a win-win for everyone, and there would be none
of this crap about invasion of privacy or ethnic/racial
profiling !

A
Tribute to the Royal Canadian Golden Hawks
I
don't know if you knew this or not..
The first photo in the Kelowna
reunion section has a sign 'OFTT' .
I made that sign in Baden
in the late 60's, early 70's..
There were a whole bunch of Elves
on it depicting the activities in the simulator there at that time.
We used it to display on a
Rhine cruise ship one year and we had a CF-104 pilot fly over and take a photo
of us on deck. The sign was used to identify which ship we were on.
I wish I could find that photo..
Take care Paul
